About MEKUTI

MEKUTI is a trading name of LIGHTWOOD

Mekuti came into being in 2004. During Rachael Greenland's training to be a TTouch practitioner she saw very clearly that animals can be treated with respect whilst both human and animal had their needs met.

It was her animal companions (and their respective issues) had bought her to TTouch so she named the company after their them Meg, Kugel and Tigger. Further research found that Mekuti was a buddhist monk, which seemed appropriate!

Mekuti has always been a small business entity, run with animals, not particularly profits, in mind. You won't get flashy packaging or presentation, but you will get equipment that helps and continuing support by email or phone, whichever you prefer.

All of the Mekuti branded products are made in the UK. From November 2025, Mekuti products are marketed by Demetri Dourambeis and his company Lightwood, who has worked with the products and customers since 2014. MEKUTI is a trading Name of LIGHTWOOD.

We hope our products will be able to help you and your companion animals.

Our aims :

To supply great equipment that works for both the dog and the handler.
To dispatch orders for stock items received before 1pm on the same working day.
To bring awareness of animal-centered and force-free techniques in approaching dog behaviour to a wider audience.
To promote a sense of partnership with our companion animals.

Rachael has since moved on to other ventures, and the Mekuti brand is now owned by Demetri Dourambeis – Lightwood, a British company trading since 2010.
