10. PRIVACY POLICY & WEBSITE SECURITY
10.1 The Mekuti website is a 'secure' site where any information provided at any stage of the ordering or enquiry process is encrypted and private. You can check the secure status (SSL) of the site by finding the padlock at the top of your browser.
10.2 MEKUTI will retain your name, address, telephone number, email address and order history solely for the purpose of supplying your order. We do not supply these details to any third parties, except where necessary for carrying out the supply of your order. Such details are governed by The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) (EU) 2016/679 (a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union. It also addresses the export of personal data outside the EU), and the Data Protection Act 1998. Under these Regulations, you are entitled to have a copy of any details held by Mekuti. It is your legal right to request removal of your personal details at any time.
10.3 Cookies are not used on our website in a form that can identify the visitor as an individual but general Google Analytical functions are used to map the duration, the throughput and frequency of visits in order that we may be able to monitor performance, improve the function and clarity of the website. This function can be modified and turned off by you (the visitor) by switching on 'private browsing' on changing the cookie settings in your internet browser.
10.4 All information entered in any part of the shopping experience is fully encrypted. Once an item is placed in the 'shopping cart', data is transferred to our integrated shopping cart handlers who use cookies to keep track of items in your cart which is necessary to process your order and maintain the cart should the visitor's connection be interrupted. Our online Shopping Cart will display an itemised list of the products and any Post & Packing BEFORE you enter any personal or payment details except for the location of delivery to work out your Shipping options. Only by proceeding to the Checkout are your personal details entered (these can be retained for your next purchase if you request it – it is not automatic).
10.5 Credit, Debit Card and PayPal payments handling and authorisation are processed by SagePay (also known as Opayo), who provide our online merchant services. You will receive an email from Romancart notifying you of your purchase. If for any reason there will be an significant delay in supplying any of your items, we will endeavour to inform you to give you the options of changing it or to cancel. Only enough payment details are retained to process any refund which may be applicable for a single order. Mekuti can not process any further payments or orders without customers supplying the information again.
10.6 Mekuti does not pass or sell email addresses, personal details or order details to anyone.
10.7 If you have chosen to accept marketing emails from us then we may send an email to you occasionally featuring any company news, special offers or product information. These will be no more than two contacts in any one year. You can choose to remove yourself from the mailing list when you receive any of these emails. Since May 2018, this is an OPT IN feature.
